The work evokes apparatus that could be used to control wave forms, perhaps of light, glass is used to elude to manifestation of an invisible state.  Appearing as if apparatus that could be used to visualise the change in shape of a wave at it passes through a mechanism, the process and workings of which are obscure.  The work draws inspiration from the strange and counterintuitive world of quantum mechanics, where light is both a wave and a particle and the act of observation changes the state of the system.  Aesthetically they draw inspiration from early 20th century futuristic pioneers,  among them Fritz Lang and Nicola Tesla, but the work is of its time, utilising a twenty first century set of processes, from 3d computer modelling, waterjet cutting, precision grinding, glass blowing and metal work.
